The Trip to Wyoming
As most of our visitors know, the Lone Star is proud to ride and work with the Spanish Mustangs.  This summer, we got a chance to visit the family responsible for saving this amazing breed of horse, the Brislawns.
The Brislawn family operates the Cayuse ranch in Oshoto Wyoming.  Emmitt, and his daughter Josey raise Spanish Mustangs.
The Lone Star Team had recently trained some Mustangs for the Brislawn's, and got the chance to deliver them "back home".  While on the Cayuse we were able to see over 200  Mustangs the out on the ranch.
We ended up driving over 3000 miles, making some really good friends, lifetime memories, and bringing back 3 more mustangs to train.
This is Mickey Thompson (left) and Emmit Brislawn (right).  Mickey is the owner of the Lone Star, and Emmit is the son of Bob Brislawn (Mr. Mustang).  Mickey and Emmit have been friends for years, and are considered 2 of the finest Spanish Mustang trainers in the world.
While on the Cayuse, the Lone Star Team got a chance to ride our horses out with the rest of the Mustangs.  In this picture, Adam, Jim, Jodie, Jenna, and Mickey stop to take in some of the Wyoming scenary.
We had the opportunity to see some really beautiful horses, while out on the ranch.  This particular paint is a half brother to "Whisper", the horse used during Horsemanship classes at the Lone Star
Even though the natural forage seemed very poor to those of us from the east coast, the horses coats all looked great.  It is a testamont to the hardiness of the Spanish Mustangs, that they can flourish in this rugged environment.
This particular Mustang Stud is "Nevada Bob".  "Bob" is one of the most well known of the Spanish Mustang stud horses.
While out on a ride, we got the opportunity to see the mother of one of the guide horses used on at the Lone Star.  This paint mare is the mother of "Marcie", (most frequently seen trail riding with Adam).
